We first visited Russia in 1999 and over the next 12 years we returned from one to three times a year. We traveled from the south in the Voronezh region to St. Petersburg in the north. Over the years, we traveled by train from Finland, Estonia, and Poland to experience the real Russia.

Our family was fortunate to visit some area where an American had never been seen. We were humbled when the school children told us they were so excited to hear, "The Americans were Coming". Our finally thoughts, there are no harder working people on this earth.

As we traveled through Russia, we also felt the need to visit the countries which broke away, Estonia, Belarus, and Georgia.

The early years were shot on film, which is disappointing because we have 1000s of rolls of film to research.
